Caramel cream liqueur

The simple and uncomplicated preparation is of course also great. So everything has already been said and we can actually go straight to the recipe. But stop! Who can resist caramel and dulce de leche ?! Dulce de Leche or milk caramel is a pretty sweet milk caramel cream that can be made from sweetened condensed milk that has been boiled for a long time. But there are also other preparation methods. You can also buy them ready-made. Under the recipe I wrote down how easy it is to prepare it at home. So it can be found everywhere on the Internet, but before you have to search long, you can find the instructions right here. In principle, sweetened condensed milk is simply boiled in the closed can for 2-3 hours, that's it! The caramel can then be kept forever and is also worth making in advance.

Not just for Christmas

I had already prepared the liqueur in the same way many months ago. Because Mr. Cookie and Co loves caramel. This liqueur is of course very welcome. In this case it was a birthday treat. my Caramel ice cream is also very popular with him. Just as a tip if you also have a caramel junkie in the house. The caramel and cream liqueur is therefore not only ideal for giving away at Christmas time, but actually always! It is also an ideal last-minute gift.   • 180 g brown rum
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract (or 1 prize ground vanilla)
  • 3040 g brown sugar ((depending on taste))
  • 120 g cream

Instructions

PREPARATION

  1. Preparation Clean the bottle (s) again very thoroughly or boil or sterilize.
  2. Preparation If necessary, caramelize the sweetened condensed milk. (see recipe)

Caramel cream liqueur

  1. Preparation Put all ingredients, except for the rum, in a saucepan and mix thoroughly.
  2. Preparation Heat to about 70 ° C and stir slowly.
  3. Preparation Then mix in the rum thoroughly.
  4. Storage Fill into the bottle (s) and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Ingredients

  • water
  • 1 Can of sweetened condensed milk (400 g) (possibly several)

Instructions

Preparation in the pot

  1. Remove the paper band from the can.
  2. Place or place one or more cans (closed!) Next to each other in a saucepan.
    (With 3-4 pieces of kitchen roll or a tea towel underneath, it doesn't rattle when cooking.)
  3. Add enough water until the can (s) is / are completely covered.
  4. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer gently over medium heat for about 2-3 hours. (The shorter the cooking time, the lighter the caramel stays.)
    Important: Check again and again in between that there is still enough water in the pot. The cans must always be covered with water !!! Top up with hot water if necessary.
  5. Then take it out and let it cool down completely. Do not open beforehand !!!
    (The can is pressurized and the caramel is very hot.)

Preparation in the Thermomix

  1. Remove the paper band from the can.
  2. Pour approx. 1.2 l of water into the mixing bowl, hang in the cooking basket
    Place the can of sweetened condensed milk unopened in the cooking insert.
    The can must be completely covered with water.
  3. Without measuring cup for 90 min. | 100 ° C | Boil level 1. Then another 60 min. | 100 ° C | Continue cooking at level 1.
    Important: Check again and again in between that there is still enough water in the pot. The cans must always be covered with water !!! Top up with hot water if necessary.
  4. Then take it out and let it cool down completely. Do not open beforehand !!!
    (The can is pressurized and the caramel is very hot.)
